City view in Maritim Hotel Dresden
We had a really great experience and were served by a very friendly and professional staff. The location is fantastic and a short walk to the historic Altstadt. The entire building is very clean and well maintained and leaves a very positive impression especially when you consider the amount of polished marble flooring. Our room was great. We had plenty of comfortable space, everything worked, was very clean and very well maintained. If you book an Elbe river view room on one of the upper levels of 5 or above, you will be treated to a perfect sunrise, in July at least. The breakfast was excellent, high quality and environmentally friendly in that it avoids use of plastic or items that can't be reused. This even goes down to the level of having a butter machine that only dispenses what you ask for. Omelets can be cooked to order and you can even make your own fresh carrot juice if you desire. The selection of available items was large and easily ranks with or exceeds our best experiences elsewhere. The hotel offers a nice terrace on the north side that faces the river and provides a nice, quiet respite from the hot temps and sun where you can relax and enjoy the evening. If you decide to enjoy your evening meal at the hotel you will find a nice buffet and a couple of single menu options available. We didn't want a big meal our first night and discovered that we could limit ourselves to just the Vorspeisen/Appetizers at a reduced price. We were very favorably impressed and this will become our hotel of choice for future visits. Some sights/attractions to consider: The Green Vault and/or Residenz, a visit to the Frauenkirche which is only open to the public at certain times, a boat trip on one of the paddle-wheelers, the Zwinger which unfortunately has the courtyard undergoing construction at the moment, possibly a night Watchman guided tour, various museums and of course just a walk through the Altstadt.

Hello there. I thought I have to say that. I found reception staff need a bit more of training. When customer arriving and waiting , they need to be invited, called to preside to the desk. I was standing, waiting and resection person was looking at computer, so I do not know if they are busy or waiting for me to do the move first. I understand that in Germany service can’t be called over friendly but standards should be reached. Also in sauna facility, which I had to pay extra I was forced to take my bikini off by other guests(German). I thought it is unexplainable. And if that the case and guest have to go to sauna naked the staff should inform guest and put some writing ✍️ sings that we all have to be nude in those saunas. This aria is more a relaxation facility , not a torcher for one and enjoy for other . I was upset, very uncomfortable and didt go to sauna next day. It was shock for me to see men with young girls(daughters) going to sauna naked. I didt sings for that. And if it is the way it should be information for foreign guest, becouse not all countrys at the same level and would like to get some privacy and choice. Over all it was not bad. Thank you. Elena

Preliminary note: 1 night in a superior double room with Elbe view on the 7th floor (my request for a quiet room at the end of the corridor and as far up as possible was granted, thanks for that). Arrival: Unproblematic, although it is easy to miss the entrance to the public parking garage, where the maritim's parking lot is also located (24 Euro per 24 hours). Check-in and beyond: Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Room: Very spacious and nicely furnished room with very large and comfortable double bed, with a large desk, nice lighting (and bright if desired), two comfortable chairs and an extra table, large bathroom, empty refrigerator (very good as you can cool your own things). Really very quiet room, could hear almost nothing from outside or inside. Location: Very close to the center / old town and located directly on the river Elbe. Very nice view of the river, the green areas along the river and some parts of the old town.

Room was good and there were some problems with the lift the fisrt day we arrived however it was fixed very quickly as we stayed on the 8th floor. Location of the hotel is great, the windows were partially looking at the river Elbe and the view was beautiful. Also the hotel is located not far from the centre city, takes up to 10 minutes to walk to the centre and 5 minutes to get to the riverside. There is a swimming pool area which was free of charge and it looked very relaxing however we did not have time to visit it and also it included sauna for additional price as we've been told by receptionist upot our arrival.

The lovely lady at reception allowed us to check in at 10am after our early arrival, this really made a world of difference as we only had 24 hours in Dresden and were able to use the pool facilities before getting ready to take on the city. The rooms are spacious & clean, windows open completely with a beautiful view of the city & Elbe River! breakfast buffet is not included. A beautiful city to explore only 10mins walk down the river! A relaxing stay! The reception also helped us with a map of Dresden & helped us get a taxi to the station upon departure!
